When I got pregnant, my boyfriend left me. I was left alone in a rented apartment. I was doing all I could to make money - worked as a waitress, made dough at a pizza place. However, the COVID-19 lockdowns and later the war did not help... In our small town everything is closed now and not long ago the bridge that connected or town with the regional centre was blown. I have no money to pay rent or care for the child.

My mother always refused to help me - she had her own life and a partner with whom she lived. Now she died and I am completely alone.

Now my child is three years ago . The kid’s father doesn’t care for the boy, he has his own family now. His mother doesn’t help either and now she lives and works abroad.

Half a year ago, the son of a woman who rents us an apartment assaulted me. He was drunk, I tried to escape and bit him. Later his mother told me that he’s HIV-positive. I had to undergo a preventive treatment which negatively affected my health.

I need financial help to pay rent and buy food for my child. I make some money seasonally by selling baked food. I can work only when my son is asleep. However, I can make money this way only in the summer since we live in a small town in Southern Ukraine. At least, the town isn’t under occupation now.
